Opie did exactly what you are supposed to do when you find out someone, anyone, has killed part of your family. He shot Clay just like he deserved; the same way Clay killed his loved ones, without a care.
I can’t believe Jax shot Opie. I don’t know why he didn’t let him finish Clay off if that’s what Opie wanted to do. At least Jax just shot him in the hand. Doesn’t matter though, that friendship will never be the same. Clay got two in the chest but something tells me he is going to survive. He was calling the shots after the shooting, even as he was being carried out.
Unser should have started prospecting the minute he left the force, he’d be a member by now. He’s done more dirty work than most prospects ever get to see, let alone do.
Jax driving Opie to emergency – he should just turn around and help him finish Clay off. He would, if he knew all the truth; the truth about Clay killing J.T. and trying to kill Tara. He would do it in a hot second.
Opie is over the promises, he’s heard enough. This club has dragged his life over the coals, and his best friend is quitting. Opie is over the bullshit.
Unser fed that Sheriff a bunch of lies, that’s ok, but he should have told the guys it wasn’t the truth when he told the sheriff that he really didn’t know who shot Clay. Bad intel is worse than no intel.
Gemma isn’t too concerned about Clay, die now, die later, either one works for her.
That AUSA is licking his lips at the up and coming sting. I think he is counting his chickens before they hatch.
Tara is starting to see the repercussions of her holding onto those letters. Piney dead, Gemma beaten, what’s next? Tara isn’t upset at all about Clay. No surprise, he just threatened her. Tara should know Jax loves him without having to ask him to say it. He has killed men in front of her, for her. If that’s not love, what is? Tara is right, that was real when she said “if I could stop I would”. Now that’s Love.
Bobby not signing out of Stockton is a big red flag. You don’t sign in and not sign out unless they keep you. Bad sign.
Gemma is weaving a web so tight no one will ever get out. She is playing Tara to get what she wants. Those letters are Tara’s leverage, she shouldn’t just give them up.
If Lenny says Otto made a deal, then he did. Lenny gets his intel from inside, I would believe him.
Tig is making a bad decision based on bad intel, a decision that is going to have repercussions for the whole club. Broad daylight, drive through cafe, not smart. Everyone saw him do it, probably recognized him. Working on emotion is not what men do, men work on logic. Making decisions on emotion will always get you messed up. Better off to sleep on it. Tig should have stashed the bike better and let them drive by. He might have made it away.
Gemma finally gets what she wants, the letters. I doubt she will give them to Clay. Even if she did I don’t think it will stop him, too many people know too much. I knew for sure she would take out any incriminating evidence against herself. The truth is a little overwhelming for her; past memories that were thought dead, resurfacing, reading and remembering, that she was in it from the beginning. Got to be a heavy weight to carry. That is if you have a conscience.
Tig screwed up and now he needs an escort out of dodge. That’s what being in the club is about, backing your Brother up at all times, no matter how stupid a mistake he makes. You back your Brother up against all comers, then sort it out with him later. The guys give Tig an escort home without questioning what he had done. Some cool bike tricks. They got away for now, but they really screwed up, they made a real war with the Niners. Some decisions have repercussions that are so far reaching you would never be able to see it at the moment. Tig should stay off the streets and off his bike, they know what he looks like. Riding to the hospital right after a high speed chase in the same clothes and on the same bike ain’t smart. But neither was the daylight drive through in front of witnesses.
Why is Romeo giving Jax bad intel? We know that Otto ratted. I don’t know why he did that, except maybe he wants the deal to go down.
Aint gonna find Juice, probably getting ready for witness protection.
Tig’s got feelings. Wow. Crying on Gemma’s shoulder, scared of dolls, the whole bit, who knew? He’s got more feelings than Gemma, as far as Clay is concerned.
Gemma is setting up Jax to finish what Opie didn’t, the same way Unser set up Opie. Gemma is telling a tale to suit her needs and Jax is falling for it hook line and sinker. He should be asking her why she stayed with the man that killed his father. Gemma is straight putting the task of killing Clay on Jax. She wants him dead before he can wake up and drag her in it. She is taking a risk, telling the whole truth to Jax and Tara, cause if Clay doesn’t die, you can bet he will let everyone know she is complicit from the start.
Tara is smarter than Gemma, she is smarter than anyone gave her credit for, and more ruthless also. It has been cool to watch her transformation. Or was it a transformation? I am starting think she knew who she was, what she wanted, and how she was going to get it from the beginning. Either way, she is cool. Cool like ice.
Tara knows the truth about the past and Clay knows she knows it. That will be a loose end he will want to clean up when he recovers. They say Clay will pull through the surgery. I knew he would, only the good die young.
Tara shows Jax how to get the job done. Even Gemma is impressed. Yep, beautiful, educated, successful, and a killer – Tara’s got it all. Mom would be proud. She’s got the power, and the power calls the shots.
There is nothing more powerful, than the power of love.

Unser SHOULD have covered Clay’s nose and mouth with a rag so he couldn’t breath, while they waited for the cops to show up, then said “I guess he didn’t make it.”
By Francie on December 1st, 2011 at 12:28 pmRomeo got bad intel from the dude that he sent to get it..he’s undercover..part of the trap…Romeo needed to vet his guys better.
By yellowdoggranny on December 1st, 2011 at 12:32 pmI think clay has to die one way or another and the truth needs to be told to the whole club. Everything needs to be out in the open. This club is falling apart. I agree Uncer should be patched in. Best season so far !
By JasonRock on December 1st, 2011 at 12:53 pmLots to deal with in 1 more episode. Clay has an ally now in Tig, to watch his back, so be careful Jax. The Irish, Cartel, and Feds all set for a showdown. The Niners will be lurking. Never quite sure what Gemma will do. I got a feeling Otto has something up his sleeve. Juice too ? Will the Sheriff redeem himself ?
All this wrapped up in an hour ? Hang on, it should be a wild ride !
By Lone Wolf on December 1st, 2011 at 1:05 pmGemma said to Unser “we’re in the clear”. So he had something to do with John Teller getting killed too. I still think the Fed is Teller
By Mario on December 1st, 2011 at 2:49 pmWhats up with Tara? Why does she need Jax and Gemma to say they love her? Is she starting to break, or is she going to manipulate the two of them against each other? What ever is going on, it’s deep.
By shehippie on December 1st, 2011 at 2:51 pmI think Opie needs to finish off Clay and then kill both Jax and Gemma and then take control of the club. But hey it’s a hell of season and has had me captivated since day one no matter what direction the story takes us.
By Fridge on December 1st, 2011 at 3:05 pmI have not heard and obviously the way this season is ending but, is there going to be more seasons? I believe no one thought that the show would have such a cult following.
By Lucky on December 1st, 2011 at 3:07 pmI really think Potter is JT. Romeo gave bad intel, because he got bad intel from his LT that is an informant for potter.
By FINFAN3dp on December 1st, 2011 at 3:24 pmI think Gemma is pissed. Her and Tara want the same person dead, but Gemma wants it so that Jax can hold the Gavel, Tara on the other hand wants this done with so they can get out. It was powerful at the end of the episode when Tara said “He’s mine”, and as far as i can tell, Jax is listening to Tara much more. I cannot wait to see how it all plays out.
By Charlie on December 1st, 2011 at 3:26 pmThis season sucks, and it sucks HARD! It started off bad and unbelievable…Running dope??? REALLY???? So the first three seasons of SAMCRO fighting to keep drugs OUT of Charming was a lie??? and are we really supposed to swallow this killing Piney, hit on Tara, beat the **** outta Gemma Clay??? Did he not learn ANYTHING from killing Donna because he made a bad call on Op?
I LOVED this show when it first came out, so much that I endured all of that Stahl/baby gone for a whole season BS..and for what?? THIS??? I am so let down!!!
I honestly don’t care if Clay lives or dies…but as there is apparently gonna be a season 5 he probably will….but they will also have to keep Jax in Charming and I can see them doing that with Clay alive. Well, I guess season 5 could happen around Bobby in prison, Juice in WitPro, Tig in therapy, and Gemma possibly becoming the first Old Lady/President. Why not, the rest of this season is so out there this almost makes sense!
Just my thoughts…RIP SOA.
By Carrie Lynn on December 1st, 2011 at 4:09 pmI love the show, but I felt played for a sucker when Clay survived. This is the 2nd time that we have been led to believe that a major cast member has died ( Juice ) only to see the truth the next week. I feel it disrespects and toys with what I believe to be an intelligent audience. I think they know the audience wants Jax to kill Clay, but figured that Opie would certainly try to kill him in reality. I’ll continue to watch since it is my favorite show, but I don’t want Kurt Sutter jerking me around anymore. Either actually kill them off ( like Piney ) or don’t.
By Jeff Littrell on December 1st, 2011 at 4:58 pmOut of the questions you brought up in your post, the one I have been trying to figure out is why Romeo lied about Otto not selling out.
Did Otto ONLY sell out Bobby? Is Romeo in on the whole thing? Did he turn on the Mayans, the SoA and the Irish, to keep from getting put into prison?
Seriously, I’ve talked to a few people and the only rational thing anyone has come up with is that he only ratted out Bobby.
Glad I am not the only person who feels Juice is being set up for WitPro. I brought that up and it was shot down by many, but there is no way he can go on lying to the MC and live with himself. He’s attempted suicide once…the next time he will be successful.
By Anthony K. on December 1st, 2011 at 7:54 pmpart of me wonders if Tara has actually told Jax or shown him the letters yet they’ve managed to keep it a secret.
If that is the case then Jax knows Gemma didn’t give him all the information.
By Flash on December 2nd, 2011 at 9:33 amYea, the Romeo angle has been bothering me too, why would ne lie or is it just bad intel from his sources ??? Is Potter that good or is Romeo working for the Feds ???
By bubbayesmar on December 4th, 2011 at 12:44 pmRomeo gave good, if incomplete, intel: Otto is talking to someone but he didn’t give up the meet; he gave up Bobby. It’s the other rat that no one knows to ask about, Juice, that gave up the meet (or maybe, we’ll see).
By doug on December 4th, 2011 at 6:37 pmMr. Bob, I really enjoy your blog entries. You summerize the episodes perfectly and precisely without wasting words and add just enough of your own opinions and impressions of the show to add flavor and character. Bravo sir, bravo. I look forward to what you have to say about the Finaly tomorrow, and perhaps you could do an additional entry summerizing the season and stating your thoughts/hopes for the next season of SOA.
Keep up the good work, and if you are ever in St. Augustine, FL (perhaps for Bike Week) I will definately buy you a beer or five.
By Hunter Cooper on December 5th, 2011 at 8:44 amThe Niners should kill Gemma and Jaxx or Opie kill Clay. Then that stops the war and Jaxx and Tara can try to run the club Legit.Simple fix. The guilty are punished and the club is made whole again.
By OLD SCHOOL on December 5th, 2011 at 7:10 pmPrefect set up for the ending.
Jax will not be able to kill Clay because he will find out that Clay is really his father.
That way, Clay will not die and come back next season.
Am I right?
By Dan Paul on December 5th, 2011 at 9:03 pmthe POWER of LOVE! that said it all!
By battyblonde on December 5th, 2011 at 9:41 pmWhy did Piney have to get dead? I’m sorta pissed about that. And what would make Otto turn rat? Some of this season has been ****ed up ****, man. I thought the ATF bitch was ****ed up, but the US attorney is even more ****ed up, I hope he gets his like she got hers. (& I hope Clay gets his, too, that mother****in piece of ****!)
By Rick Radford on December 6th, 2011 at 4:09 pmYeah, I know it’s just a story. I used to watch The Sopprannos too, and there was some ****ed up **** on there as well, but this show reminds me of people I actually know, folks I’ve run with, gotten drunk with… Anyways, it speaks well of the writing (&writers) when a show can hold your interest the way SOA does.
Ride on.
for all the critics; didn’t ANYONE read Hamlet? hello?! Sons is the best on television today – by far – and deserves a big Emmy year.
By nervousrex on December 7th, 2011 at 9:41 amTalk about feeling played for a sucker: the plot “resolutions” in the finale are awful. I’m happy to see SOA showing some social awareness by riffing on the whole Fast and Furious thing, but “boo, hiss.”
By DeucesWilde on December 7th, 2011 at 2:57 pmThis season is what happens when leadership goes bad; over to the evil side. I mean, this was an M/C to start with — not the nicest guys on the planet; but what’s happened since JT’s death under Clay has been unbelievable. I guess that’s Hollywood for you.
What I wanna see is what’s going to happen in Season 5. There are some tough choices to be made, and that egotistical SOB Clay isn’t dead yet.
C’mon writers, let’s get to it. Season 5 is make or break. Make it work!
By Jim T on December 8th, 2011 at 10:40 am@Carrie Lynn:
clearly you do not get the deep plots of this show. your surface level opinionated review shows that you dont get it….it is ok. the show and the AMAZING writing by Kurt is not for everyone. many of us understand what is going on. we get Kurt’s writing. we get the deeper meaning and story going on.
so w/ that said, I completely disagree with your opinion and so do a zillion other people.
By skirtsNdaggers on December 8th, 2011 at 4:45 pm@Jeff Littrell:
By skirtsNdaggers on December 8th, 2011 at 4:47 pmLMAO. seriously? jerk you around? your post shows that Kurt is an amazing writer because what happens is NOT what you EXPECT…..
Kurt, When are you going to get FX to release a calendar of the cast…What a wonderful XMAS gift for ALL your fans.
