The rolling hills of Ireland. It always rejuvenates me to see Brothers from overseas. Nothing like seeing a Brother for the first time, and knowing he is your Brother. You can trust him, he will give whatever is needed for you, and you for him, kill or die for you. Real families don’t even have that. If you are in one of the Big Clubs, one with overseas charters, then you know what I mean. Getting off the plane in a place you have never been, meeting a Brother you have never met, and he looks in your eyes and says, whatever you need Brother, and he means it. Well, if you don’t experience it, then you can only imagine.
So, Father Kellan is in the baby business. I wonder what else he has his hands in. Liam O’Neill is dirty and we know that. It is hard to tell how dirty McGee is. Chibs’ nephew seems too cool to be in with O’Neill. But who knows.
Tig is a complete savage. He knows what he signed up for. He ain’t trippin’ in the lock up. Feet up, relaxed. I said it before and I will say it again, Tara is way cool. Bailed out Tig, kept her mouth shut, even when Unser is hinting that he knows she is lying. Way cooler than Unser, that’s for sure. No license for two years. There is always a way around that; just gotta find it. You have to have a license, or you ride anyway, and try to be cool, and if you can’t be cool, you outrun them.
Road block my ass. It is obvious this is a set up. No way those cops could get that information that fast. No way. That Irish Brother didn’t know what he was getting into when Gemma got in the truck. I knew she wouldn’t let anything happen to them. Not over her dead body. Gemma to the rescue. Welcome to Ireland is right. Wait till they get a load of what just landed, some American justice. I knew that cop would give up whatever info he knew. I wish Happy would have blown that cop’s head off, but he is too smart for that. If they had started killing those cops they would not have made it a day in Ireland. It is obvious they are dirty, he told them himself. Better to let them crawl back to wherever they are stationed, they aren’t going to say anything.
I wonder what the beef is between Tig and Kozik. Eight years. Bad blood can last awhile. Sometimes forever. Tig will probably let forever pass twice before he lets Kozik into SAMCRO.
Jacob Hale was clocking Salazar in the police station. He sees an accomplice in him. Or at least a flunky.
Gemma wanted to knock Maureen’s teeth in. Hello, American style. She slept with her man. Had a kid even. Gemma’s attitude is “let’s get right to business, cut the small talk.” So Maureen knew about Gemma when she fooled around with John. You can’t blame her, she was eighteen. It was twenty two years ago. One thing’s for sure, Maureen is right, at this point Abel is the focus and nothing else. Gemma is right also. Nothing that gets buried stays buried. Not forever. Jax is gonna bang Trinity, that’s obvious. I wonder how he will take the news that it is his little sister.
You can bet, SAMCRO doesn’t trust Liam O’Neill. It’s plain as day. They don’t trust anyone, it’s how they are, and it’s their training. I like watching Jimmy’s world unravel. Hard to get good help these days.
Pretty cool Tara is helping Lyla out. She is just consistently cool. Hard to believe that Lyla the porn star doesn’t know where to get an abortion. I would have bet that comes with the territory.
How desperate is Hale? He is reaching out to anyone he can find that will do his dirty work. A perfect corrupt official. And Darby, I guess getting burned wasn’t enough. Darby must have turned over a new leaf. I guess getting burned WAS enough. The old Darby would have torched that place himself. Hale better go back to the drawing board.
It is counterproductive to have meetings at the Irish table with the Irish brothers in attendance, they cannot be trusted. Chibs has got as much to lose as Jax. He has to kill Jimmy or his family is dead. He can not leave this debt unpaid. So Jimmy is with Chibs’ ex-wife. Wow. No wonder Chibs has got extra hate for Jimmy. That will make any man crazy.
That was a Godfather style drive by. Amazing that anyone lived through it. The IRA is in a different league than most bike outfits, street gangs, and small governments. IRA kids are assembling anti-personnel land mines in elementary school. Who can compete with that?
That Supervisor gave Tara some truth. People always hate hearing their truth. It unnerves them. My mom used to always tell me, “Stop telling people their truth, they don’t want to hear it.” She was right.
Jax gave O’Neill some good shots. I wanted him to beat the shit out of him, but I have a feeling that is coming.
Hale is really grasping for straws. What happened to trusting the person you work with? Or at least knowing him for longer than five minutes.
That Prospect doesn’t look a little scared, he looks a lot scared. He should have shot Salazar the minute he saw him. I can’t believe the cops didn’t show up when Salazar started firing that automatic weapon. Salazar could have killed Lumpy. He figures it’s better to start a war between the Mayans and the Sons and maybe they will kill each other. One thing is for sure, the truce between the Sons and the Mayans is killing Salazar.
I think the ghost of Donna looms large in more places that Opie’s house. I think she transcends all levels of the Sons. Nothing stays buried. Some things keep resurfacing.
Bobby is so cool. He is the perennial Biker. Full of Biker wisdom that somehow always makes sense. That “be here now” mentality. One prospect down to go. I knew he wouldn’t last long.
So, it all comes out. The master plan. Kellan wants the Sons to kill Jimmy. He wants Jimmy dead and he can’t do it himself. He wants the Sons to do his dirty work.
At the same time that Abel is going to the highest bidder.
Better work fast.

I was wondering if the beef between Kozik & Tig is really about a motorcycle….Tig said “I think about her everyday” & with Tig being so funny I wonder if he is really referring to a bike of his that maybe Kozik stole or wrecked or something. What do you think?
By Sarah on October 28th, 2010 at 11:26 amI have to admit, I was disappointed in the episode until I read how you laid it down… can’t wait for those who deserve it to actually get “it.”
By Edward on October 28th, 2010 at 12:06 pmYou really think Jax will sleep with trinity? I think thats too much! I think its more he is curious as to whats her deal, being so young and knowing so much about the life and her being involved in it.
By jaime on October 28th, 2010 at 12:45 pmGotta give credit to Sutter. Ending the episode with Jax’s impending choice between the freedom of his mother and the life of his son. Brilliant.
By Chino on October 28th, 2010 at 4:38 pmI know the communication between Jax and Trinity leads one to think that the storyline is headed toward accidental incest, but I sincerely hope it doesn’t go there. Let them find out at the last minute or something. That would just really throw an uncomfortable wrench into his character. He’s already in anguish and pushing people he loves away. Somebody unleash the truth and let that boy avoid being any more f-ed up than he already has been. Please!
By Angelica on October 28th, 2010 at 7:36 pmLove reading your blogs after every episode. Keep up the good work on that. All I have to say on this episode is go back and watch it again….specially when Kozik is driving Tig back. If I remember correctly in that scene, after Kozik says to Tig “Its been 8 years douche bag” Tig right away replies with “and not 1 day has gone by that I haven’t thought about HER!” or something very close to that, but he does say HER, which means there beef is over a woman in some way.
By Jason on October 28th, 2010 at 7:37 pmVery good recap and observations. The deal with Tig and Kozik has to do with a woman and I’m not sure but unless it was Tig’s “old lady” he should not block Kozik from patching into SAMCRO. Looks like there is going to be blood in Belfast, hope the SAMCRO chapter members get back whole with Abel, have a feeling Charming will need them soon as Hale starting things he doesn’t understand and Salazar is working to start a war between Sons and Mayans. Prospect needs a beating as well. Need Piney or Tig to realize the situation and put a guard on Tara or she may have trouble from Salazar as well. McGee needs to make a decision, is he in or out? As a First Nine, there should be no question.
By Cliff on October 30th, 2010 at 12:14 pmI loved the Irish song at the beginning of the show, what a great voice.
By Gene Koppen on October 30th, 2010 at 4:09 pmTig & Kozick’s beef is about a broad. After Kozick said “it’s been eight years”, Tig mumbled, “yea, and a day don’t go by I don’t think of her”
By use2Bproperty on November 1st, 2010 at 11:23 amI don’t know about Tig and Kozick’s beef…But that Prospect who bailed out needs to be worked over with a primary chain… the dummy is prospectin’ for an MC and thinks he’s going to be in it for the tea and cookies? Gutless puke should’ve been winnowed out before anybody let him prospect…Clay’s slippin’ or they’re desperate for new blood. either way, it isn’t a good sign, and I see even more problems on the Home Front from this punk. Anybody who would run like that will turn Rat in a New York minute. Hoo-Boy!!!
By Mike on November 1st, 2010 at 2:57 pmI’m wondering if possibly Tig is mad at Kozick for sleeping with his mom or something to that effect. Everyone seems to want Kosick repatched, however they somewhat understand why Tig doesn’t. That way you could see why Tig would be upset while still being a funny twist.
By Kevin on November 2nd, 2010 at 2:46 amAre they brothers and talking about their mother?
By Lovin SOA on November 2nd, 2010 at 8:21 amFat Bob
Thanks for the blogs and keeping us up to speed on whats what.
By Briar on November 2nd, 2010 at 8:23 amWas really counting on ya when Dish pulled the plug and I had to watch the shows at the Bar, hard to hear and see with the pool players and jukebox blarin etc. But now the Sons are back on, oh happy day. Keep up the great job !!
I love reading your blog…sometimes I just “don’t get it” and you make it all so clear!
By coolestmom on November 2nd, 2010 at 10:35 amI am sure Gemma knows that Jax is looking to sleep with Trinity…she will now have no choice but to tell Jax who Trinity is, even though she probably doesn’t want to…I think Tig and Kozik’s beef is over a girl?? Could Tig actually have cared about a female at one time??
I’m not seeing sexual tension between Jax & Trinity. They like each other, that part is obvious, and maybe it will head that way because Jax doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of liking a woman and not having sex with her – unless she’s your mother or one of your brothers’ old ladies – but I’m not reading a whole lot of sexual spark. Anyway, I’m hoping that Gemma and Maureen’s concern that they might have sex will lead to the truth coming out before any under the cover shenanigans go on.
By Kate on November 2nd, 2010 at 1:15 pmI was bummed to see the new prospect who was in The Wire puss out in episode 8.
I was looking forward to seeing his character develop.
Sarah^ has the suspicion that the beef between Tigg an Kozic is about a motorcycle. Im bettin shes right.
By Pigpen1968 on November 2nd, 2010 at 7:10 pmDon’t hate me if I spoil the rest of the season for you, these are just my guesses:
Trinity. Yeah, if we are going to go the route of Hamlet not only will Jacks sleep with her, he will knock her up. Not only repeating the cycle of life, repeating history so to speak, but bringing in new anguish and guilt, and pain. Not to mention Kacks earns a new nickname…. and trust me, the boys will make sure it’s something truly vile.
Jacks. Does he find Abel, see him in a “stable” home and decide to leave him with them? His deal with the feds, well we can all see he is going to be saved by her “partner” in all of this as she is going to bust up the deal by busting her, and everything else she has ever touched gets thrown out. My guess is her “partner” is Internal Affairs undercover (literally)
Prospects. Too cliche, the frumpy dude in the polo washes out, just what everyone expected. The fat dude will die or wash, fat chance on him making it, seriously though, my money is on him eating it, and the 3rd will make it, probably to be a mole or undercover himself. He doesn’t feel right and seems to have some police training (or watched way too many cop shows as a kid)
So how are our boys in prison doing? We haven’t seen them in a while.
By Avery on November 3rd, 2010 at 6:12 amProspects! My ASS, those chicken****s wouldn’t make good hangarounds. Their appearance in the series does not help the story line at all. Those are the people that real “Sons” would have taken their brand new bikes from them and sent them walking.
By Dennis on November 3rd, 2010 at 6:19 amAnd Trinity my God she’s 22 and doesn’t know who her Dad is give me a ****ing break.
I just watched Eps.#9 again pausing on the tattoo at the end and the line that Kera’s boss is a Myan’s Old Lady?…. Can this get any more twisted?
Just ran across your BLOG! THANKS! Due to circumstances beyond my control, I can not longer watch SOA at the moment! YIKES! Loved reading the Blog and knowing what I am missing! Though I can not *see* it, reading the play by play makes it almost just as good!
By Barb on November 3rd, 2010 at 9:12 amKeep up the great work!!
I think that the SOA is the best and greatest show I have ever watched in my life and i’m praying that JAX doesn’t sleep with Trinity and gets back to Tara with abel and stay’s were he belongs, all tho have to admit love the ass shots of JAX OMG
By Kayla G on November 3rd, 2010 at 10:16 amI love this show but is it just me who believes the show has taken a different direction in plot line?
By Black3 on November 4th, 2010 at 7:45 amThe shows are becoming more like a soap opera. I was hooked from the first episode from season one and like the rest of you, I waited, and waited, and waited for season two and three to come out. Season two was a perfect continuation from season one even though I really had a hard time with Gemma being raped. At least the first two seasons were action packed and had exciting plot lines.
Season three is beginning to leave a bad taste in my mouth. It seems to me that SAMCRO is really slow at dealing with getting able back, dealing with the traitorous SAMBEL brothers Oniell and McGee.
The gun running has been a costly venture for SAMCRO. It seems to me that they have lost way more than they could have possibly gained in running guns for money.
For the love of God, will someone please kill Jimmy and that evil priest?!
I really was surprised when Tara boss had ink on her back. That was cool! I’m dying to know what she’s been hiding and what MC she used to be associated with.
I agree with the fellow who made the comment on making a Sons Of Anarchy movie. I’d be first in line to buy a ticket.
Sorry for the long rant. I still love the show and have great respect for Mr. Sutter and his art. I just wish it would pick up the pace.
Thanks….
@ Sarah
That’s an interesting call. I wonder if we’re supposed to think the beef between Kozik (is his name inspired by the artist Frank Kozik?) and Tig is about a chick. It would totally make sense that it would be about a bike. I think about one of my old bikes like an old girlfriend. LOL!
By Edward on November 5th, 2010 at 7:49 amMan, I’ve been a dedicated lover of this show since awaiting the previews three seasons ago and I have to say that the show recently feels like an unending downslope on a roller coaster! I need some good news! You gotta give us something positive. The first two seasons had good ebb and flow between hardship, dark humor and some happiness in the small things. I get the fact that a certain amount of angst and anticipation makes for great ratings, but this entire season has been a constant downer!!!
