Wow. What a show. You could have heard a pin drop in my house. Needless to say my house was set up like it was Super Bowl Sunday. We had a few friends over, I think there were quite a few folks in the country doing that.
I gotta say I like where Opie’s head is at. He has turned into some psycho killer. I gotta think if my old lady got killed I would be Hell bent on retribution also. No one would be safe.
Those guys running the guns up the coast in their bedrolls is a little unbelievable. I mean, me and my crew get pulled over left and right for the smallest possible infraction. Thinking we would pass the first traffic stop is amazing.
I think it’s real cool the relationship that Gemma has with the cop. That part is totally believable. Small town, everyone growing up together. And how about that prospect? Tig must be a great shot to not have blown his head right off when they were testing the guns.
The inner turmoil that Clay and Jax are having is also totally believable. There is no way you will be in a club with other people, other opinions and always see eye to eye. One thing though, you can NEVER lie to your Brother. That’s rule number #1. That is something all brother’s have to be able to rely upon - your brother will ALWAYS tell you the truth.
Definitely Opie is a savage. When he was cutting an A on the Mayan’s chest we were all screaming. I don’t think I would have done that, if I ever found my self in a situation like that. I think it’s important to get away with it. Leave no trace. Then Jax sets up the Niners. Wow. And how about Tig? He is the textbook Sociopath. Gotta love him. Sometimes I gotta remember that they are not a real MC, that this is a T.V. show, these are actors, and this is about entertainment. If you heard some of my friend’s in my house screaming at the T.V. like it was real you would not have believed it. I can easily say this is the best show I ever watched, maybe cause it’s what I am into, and cause it’s totally entertaining.
O.K. Here it is…what can I say, that last scene with Gemma was intense! My house was in disbelief. Everyone went quiet. I can’t wait to see where this is going. We want retribution. We can’t wait till the Son’s make this right. Other than that all I can say is we are addicted. Can’t wait till next week. Good to be back. I hope everything is good with you and yours.

This was an amazing episode and gives me much hope for an exciting, action packed season.
Around here, I rarely ever see a bike pulled over but I rarely see anyone sporting colors either so I suspect I am not seeing the whole picture but I thought the idea of them running guns on their bikes a bit out there as well.
Glad you’re back!

By Dante on September 15th, 2009 at 11:21 amThe 2nd episode looks to be kick ass,Henry Rollins plays a great psyco. I hope he lasts more that 2 episodes.
By Buck Nasty on September 15th, 2009 at 11:58 amLoved the review. Season 2 is gonna be great. Can’t wait till tonight!
By Mr. Motorcycle on September 15th, 2009 at 2:20 pmWe’re hooked! We happened to see an ad for the show, and figured we would see what it was about. We DVR’d the whole first season when they did the run-up to this season, and WOW! Great show. And now I’ve found this blog. Yay.
There’s so much more to Gemma and Clay than we’ve seen, and they go and toss in this twist. It’s going to be powerful. Can’t wait to see where Opie goes now, and Tig? Well, what’s not to love about Tig.. from a distance!
Looking forward to more.. of the show, and Fat Bob!

I only started watching the show because my co-worker told me about it - so I watched the reruns over the summmer and got caught up. I was so blown away with the new episode. I have read your blog and you sound like a really down to earth person. Thanks for keeping things real and I can’t wait to watch #2 tonight.
The last scene was so intense - I wanted to throw something and scream - but I just sort of sat there for awhile - the acting on this show is amazing.
Becky
By Becky on September 15th, 2009 at 4:39 pmwow what a show. Is Jax on a superglide or a lowrider? I want his handlebars and shield.
By Eric on September 15th, 2009 at 6:31 pmI just gotta say, I loved casting Adam Arkin of all people as a neo-nazi. That got me laughing pretty hard! I bet everyone working on the episode got a good chuckle over that one…
By Jay on September 16th, 2009 at 5:56 amGlad to have you back Fat Bob! We had a little viewing party as well, and our reactions were in line with how your crew reacted. When Bobby got shot, I was yelling, “Somebody better plug that hole with a tampon before he bleeds out!” and all the Bros in the room started throwing tampons at each other! I’m sure you know why…
Anyway, the show was great, its great to see you back at the blog, and I look forward to more posts and insights.

Beautiful story and well put together. Great actors, Bikes…Wow!
Can’t wait to see the next episode.
why are the bikes so gay on the show?
By james on September 17th, 2009 at 11:00 amall I can say is “WOW”…Gemma keeping this from Clay, unbelievable..and hopefully she will get her 2 cents in when it comes times for revenge!…love the doc wanting the truth from Jax too…glad you are back…agree with you tho…cops love to pull over people on Harley’s, been there, done that!
By NitroLady on September 17th, 2009 at 11:59 amWow, this season is kickin’ off big. I knew Henry Rollins was going to play a psycho but WHAT A PSYCHO. Gemma was interesting before but now this twist is proving what a great character she is. She is shattered now but the old quote “what does not kill you makes you stronger” is going be proven by her. Gemma knows that her husband and son would burn Charming down for what happened to her. Opie is off the chain, he is going to get much darker so much so that Tig is going to look like a little lamb next to him.
By loana on September 17th, 2009 at 4:26 pmSo that episode was intense, what about episode 2? i was at work so i missed it but im catching it on Fri. Love the blog, by the way you talk you are local to SoCal, if so maybe you ride with some buddies of mine? Well keep up the good work and see you later.
By HD-MARINE on September 17th, 2009 at 4:53 pmOh-Rah!!
Hey Fat Bob,
Yep looks like Sutter has another good run set up for our viewing pleasure.
The scene where Gema was raped and beaten was a little tough to watch being she is my fav of the show, but most like she’ll get them back, Rowlings better cover his nards cause they are gonna come off.Maybe the cop will help her get-er-done!
Agree with ya about Op, hes going death wish and can say if it happened to my ol’l lady like you, no one would be safe from my rath.
Also like the way Jax is laying it out to Clay, going to make for some interesting moves on both sides. Some real in your face tension….
Yeah the gun in the saddle bags is laughable, but it is hollyweird and in that world anything is plausible,,,,
All in all off to a real good start,,,
Ride free, rubber to the road and all that and don’t take **** from anyone!
By Base on September 19th, 2009 at 7:56 amFat Bob -
Like the new solid paint scheme over the flames…gives her a real clean look. That bike’s cherry, bro…nice wrenchin’.
Episode 2 all came down to that scene Gemma at the end; you could have heard a pin drop here, as well. Was it fore-shadowing a change in Gemma’s agenda…or just a momentary weakness in her character? Dude, I don’t know…Kurt Sutter is a damn good writer, no tellin’ where he’s taking it. Clay could find himself outnumbered real quick, though.
And that **** with Tig and Opie when they were loading the AK’s…be real interesting to see where what little conscious Tig has takes him this season.
Keep the shiny side up, bro.
DK
By DK on September 19th, 2009 at 9:23 amLove the show unrealistic on bikes..how about a few real customs ..rigid frames a shovel or two some apes cmon get with it
By Bito on September 24th, 2009 at 7:54 amLove the show, missed the first season… bought it and watched to whole eason in two days! I think Gemma is fabulous… great manipulative strength. I knew she wouldn’t just “get over it”, there will be payback!
Tig cracks me up! The whole dead body in the morgue romantic reflection just killed me. I laughed hard at the accepting, non-surprised reaction from Clay, funny!

By Michael on September 24th, 2009 at 1:50 pmI wanna say that I am a Contractor working in Afghanistan, I just saw Season 1 on video and man am I hooked. This is a great show. By bro on a bike on September 29th, 2009 at 6:06 pmI would like to see more of Jax butt…..:)
By Bella 69 on September 30th, 2009 at 9:18 amThis season looks to be killer. Opie’s manning up and Bobby’s still my favorite. They need better (real) bikes, though.
By IDMC on September 30th, 2009 at 11:21 amFat Bob,
Glad to have you on board for your insight. Its the same as having a mob member on the set of the Sopranos, which in turn make it a Blockbuster. This is why SAMCRO is at the same level as the Sopranos, having your insight. Thanks for the updates.
By Johnny on September 30th, 2009 at 5:33 pmMy son and I rode together with a crew for years but now that I can no longer ride we watch the show together every week. After disecting the show, we spend hours reminising about when we were back in the day. The average citizen is clueless. They’ll never get it. I just hope there’s enough of us that appreciate the show to keep it on the air. Dig It!
By pooka on September 30th, 2009 at 5:54 pmHi yo Fat Bob,
Love the show and love your blogs man. I was raised by bikers. My dads in a 3 piece club and the club life has always appealed to me. At the same time I know its not for me as much as I day dream about it (not a reason to get into it for sure). Brothers man thats a lovin and a fightin word, because of my dad I cant stand anyone calling me brother, unless they are family.I am rambling just wanted to show my appreciation to you and for this great show. Next time your in Arizona say hi we can get a drink and maybe have a new episode to watch.
By FuDDx on October 1st, 2009 at 11:11 pmI am not a biker but I am a bikers wife. I love Gemma she does a good job portraying a bikers wife its true we do go to extremes to protect our family and that back seat. Its going to be quite entertaining to say the least this season and from the other side of this way of life all the other ol ladies where Im from watch the SONS love the SONS and look forward to the story line unfolding.
By PropertyOF on October 3rd, 2009 at 8:23 amYo, Bob. Where the hell are ya?
By baldguy on October 3rd, 2009 at 2:33 pmHey Bob, came back.
By Dan on October 4th, 2009 at 7:10 pmHey Fat Bob-
By holychester on October 4th, 2009 at 7:57 pmA lot of people are naive or plain old stupid but you may want let your fans know that prancing around in a SOA cut with a California bottom rocker will get ‘em dip **** with certain people.
Bob,
Diggin’ the blog and glad to see SOA back. I was going through serious withdrawal waiting for season two to come around. spent my time working and tinkering with my ‘76 Ironhead. Of course, life has intervened and sent me to Afghanistan before I could finish the rebuild. But, like a good woman, she’ll be waiting for me when I get back.
Love life, live free and ride it like you stole it!
By Chief on October 8th, 2009 at 10:01 amBeen watching since ep 1, it’s only gettin’ better & better. 9-28 ep…I’d love to see what happened to those bounty hunters happen to Dog and his pack. Haa!!!! 10-5 ep. Can you believe the balls that sumabitch has blowin’ up the van at SOA central??? Chib’s will be OK I hope. Can’t wait ’till Gemma catches up with the little bitch that japped her. We know who she is now. Oooh, It’s gonna get real personal now. I though she was gonna run down the crapper Henry went into. Come on Kurt, I need some closure. Don’t make us wait all season. I have some ideas… Henry Rollins takes 10 the hard way in lockup..or Adam Arkin is forced to watch his daughter trained by the boys… Gemma’s reading the manuscript now. My theory about the Gemma/Clay and John Teller relationship is they conspired to kill John off to - 1. be together 2. move the club into a higher income bracket.
By Elcomicguy on October 8th, 2009 at 12:17 pmIf any of the cast reads this…you are all fantastic!!
I am completely hooked on SOA. I’ve never biked in my life so my perception is likely very different but regardless, the characters are fantastic, as well as the storyline.
By Horsepucki on October 8th, 2009 at 9:54 pmHey Fat Bob,
Where ya at? I’ve been looking for your take on things.
By LB on October 13th, 2009 at 3:09 amLocked up!?!? What the _ell were they thinking? Clay should have pushed Jax to do the retaliation hit. Then if something goes south, only one goes down. As well it would’ve proved to Clay that Jax got his back. Besides, Clay isn’t very happy as of late with Jax’s insabordination and second guessing the presedints moves!
Bad move by Clay… blinded with rage and power!
And I agree with ‘Elcomicguy’. Gemma should have run here big a_s pimping SUV into that john crapper!
By SamBB on October 14th, 2009 at 7:49 amanyone know what opies necklace tattoo says
By candyman on October 16th, 2009 at 1:48 amDon’t watch much T.V. but I like this show. I find it strange someone would actually walk around pretending to be a SOA patchholder…. Naive, I guess……. haven’t seen it here, don’t expect to….
